The Life and Times of Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen was born in 1949. He is an American singer and songwriter who popularly known as the boss by his fans. Bruce has a capacity to play a variety of instruments. He is a member of E Street Band.
Some of his most successful albums include: Born to Run and Born in the USA. Bruce Springsteen has sold more than 65 million albums in USA alone. Globally, he has sold a net of over 120 million. Due to this high level of success, Bruce has received several awards for his efforts. His awards include: an Academy Awards, 20 Grammy Awards and 2 Golden Globes.

Bruce grew up in New Jersey where he attended high school in Freehold Borough High School His Grandfather Douglas Fredrick has Dutch and Irish blood flowing in his veins. His mother Adele Ann worked as a secretary in the law office. She had her origins in Italy.

His most recent album was released in 2012 in the French capital, Paris. Most of his rock music has a Roman Catholic touch. He has borrowed some of his style from the Roman Catholic hymns.   This is because he attended St. Rose of Lima Catholic School.

Like many successful people all over the world Bruce attended Ocean County College before dropping out later on. He was inspired by the great names like Elvis Presley. He started singing at the age of 7 years old. His mother played a great part in promoting his talent by buying him his first guitar.

At the age of 18, Bruce narrowly escaped the possibility of serving in the Vietnam War because the medical examination showed that he was unfit to serve in the armed forces. Springsteen received his nickname “The Boss” during the late 1960’s while he was a member of a singing group called Earth. This name was given to him because after performing in one night, he was the one who collected the pay and then divided it among the band members.
